On February 17, during her broadcast on MBC FM4U’s “Noon Song of Hope”, comedian Kim Shin-young apologized to PLAVE and its fans, saying, “Many people pointed out that my comments about the virtual group PLAVE were neither fair nor objective. I humbly accept all opinions and deeply apologize to the artists and fans who were hurt by my words.”
“I failed to understand the current trend,” she admitted, adding that her comments were rude and that she would be more careful in the future. “I deeply feel the weight and responsibility of my words. Once again, I apologize,” she reiterated, promising to study more to avoid such incidents in the future.

Earlier, her apology followed remarks made on February 16, Kim Shin-young had responded to a question about adapting to virtual idols by saying, “I haven’t adapted.” She also mentioned being shocked when Go Young-bae took a photo with a member of PLAVE, questioning how Go Young-bae managed to record or broadcast with them.
Her comments, perceived as dismissive by PLAVE fans, led to widespread backlash and demands for her departure from the radio show, causing her to delete all posts from her social media.

In response to the backlash, some netizens felt the demand for her departure was excessive, stating, “Her comments were careless, but demanding her departure is too much,” “Is it really necessary to go this far?” “It was rude, but should we keep criticizing her like this?” “This is unimaginable,” and “You can be upset, but this is too extreme.”
The controversy remains ongoing, with many still debating her remarks and the response from fans. However, some believe that since Kim Shin-young has directly apologized, fans should consider showing more understanding.
